Television & Film location catering
Having a number of years’ experience of working for different companies catering for the industry, we decided to set up our own business known as Moveable Feasts. From basic beginnings we have gone from strength to strength, buying more equipment as we could afford it therefore enabling us to provide a more efficient and improved service. We have built up a good reputation for being able to meet the challenges that come with location catering and not least for providing a consistently high standard of freshly prepared food with a friendly and professional service.
Most productions require us to provide Breakfast, Lunch and Afternoon tea for the cast and crew depending on the hours of filming. The numbers we have catered for range from around 50 to over 350.
At breakfast we offer a full English breakfast or breakfast roll served hot from our kitchen. There is also a self-service buffet trailer comprising of toast, cereals, porridge, yoghurts, fruit, juices, tea and coffee.
For lunch we offer a choice of 3 main hot dishes, usually 2 meat dishes and 1 vegetarian or 1meat, 1fish and 1 vegetarian. There is a choice of 2 desserts, 1 hot and 1 cold. This is all available from our kitchen. In addition to the hot food we provide a substantial self-service salad buffet which can include approximately 10 different salads from the traditional to the more imaginative, a selection of bread and cheese, fresh fruit and the usual teas, coffee, water and juices.
Afternoon tea is usually a good selection of sandwiches, cakes and mini chocolate bars. The sandwich fillings range from the traditional favourites to more adventurous combinations.
Menus for all tastes
It is potentially quite difficult to please everyone at the same time when it comes to food. We always try to provide as much variety as possible in order to achieve this and are open to new ideas or requests especially on a long production. In recent years we have catered for an increasing number of people with food allergies or intolerance of some form or other. We have risen to this challenge and established a good reputation for adapting most recipes to accommodate these people and anyone who is on an exclusion diet of any kind.
Seasonal and Local Produce
Whenever possible we use produce that is local and in season, particularly fruit & vegetables. By buying our produce from local wholesale markets we are able to choose our own and check the quality and the price of what is available. The majority of our meat is supplied to us by a local family butcher in Bath, who we have used since 1999 when Moveable Feasts first began.
